History of the Coin:
The balboa replaced the Colombian peso in 1904 following the country’s independence. The balboa has been tied to the United States dollar (which is legal tender in Panama) at an exchange rate of 1:1 since its introduction and has always circulated alongside dollars. The 1/4 balboa coin we use for these rings are 90% silver and were minted 1965 and earlier. With the high lever of detail in this particular coin and the 90% silver purity, this would be a great choice for a coin ring.This pure silver ring is carries a bold statement that is rich in American history.
